Historic Merritt Mansion Repositioned on New Foundation
AJ Capital Partners unveiled plans Monday to reposition the historic Merritt Mansion on its property in the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood.

Flashback: The mansion began as a log cabin, which was relocated to the property and expanded in the 1840s. Around 1870, the home was further renovated and expanded to include its current handsome exterior.

Zoom in: In a press release, AJ Capital touted the repositioned mansion as "part of a larger strategy to retain the scale and character of the neighborhood while opening historic spaces to the community." The revitalized Merritt Mansion will offer a "versatile and welcome space for various events and uses," the company said.
