New York Coworking Space Announces Plans for Nashville Expansion
Written By Ian Bradley
New York-based The Malin, a members-only coworking space, has announced plans to open its fourth location, and first outside of New York City, in Nashville’s Wedgewood Houston neighborhood.
The Malin Nashville will be housed in the Nashville Warehouse Co., on the corner of Fourth Avenue South and Chestnut Street. The property is owned by AJ Capital Partners.
The company plans to begin preparing the 16,000-square-foot space in May, with plans to open this fall. When completed, The Malin Nashville will accommodate 48 desks, seven private offices, six meeting rooms, and a library.
McGuigan said The Malin had always planned to open locations outside of New York, and that Nashville was on that list from the start. Wedgewood-Houston stood out because of the work AJ Capital Partners has done to revitalize the neighborhood to make it a “growing cultural hub,” home to “some of the world’s biggest names in tech, music, and food.”
AJ Capital Partners has made Wedgewood Houston one of Nashville’s hottest neighborhoods. The company owns over 17 acres in the area and has earned a reputation for rehabilitating historic properties – the May Hosiery Mills building, most notably – rather than demolishing them and bringing in new construction.
