Backstage at Wedgewood Houston's The Truth
When building The Truth, Live Nation wanted to make the venue as simple and intimate as possible, while staying true to Nashville’s music roots.
Touches of Music City can be seen around every turn, denim curtains for the stage, lyrics from that day’s show on the lyric chandelier in the lobby, records from neighbor United Record Pressing on the walls and shelves of the Vinyl Room, a Dolly Parton pinball machine in the artist lounge backstage, and beef for the burgers locally sourced from Bear Creek Farm.
“Our goal all along, or at least my goal all along, was to build a room that was just signature Nashville, that wouldn't make any sense anywhere else,” Sally Williams, president of Nashville music and business strategy for Live Nation, told the Business Journal. “I think we got really lucky with Wedgewood Houston because Wedgewood Houston is a Nashville neighborhood.”
The Truth officially opens for its first concert, country music star Miranda Lambert, on Oct. 1. The 4,400-capacity, live-music venue by Live Nation and AJ Capital Partners has a packed 2026 schedule across multiple genres, including rising artists Malcolm Todd, Role Model and Freya Sky and industry veterans Jack White, The Chicks, Sting, The Smashing Pumpkins, Stephen Wilson Jr. and more.
When picking acts for its opening year, Williams said they picked artists that would appeal to a wide variety of people. “Our north star was to try to make it as diverse as possible,” Williams said. “I want everybody who's a music fan in Nashville to feel like this is their home.”
