Chicago transplant Alla Vita sits squarely between your comfy neighborhood spot and a special occasional place. There's plenty of room here to stretch your legs, and hands, and your legs, again. The tall ceilings are decorated with tons of hanging plants, string lights, and a floor art installation that looks like oversized shells. This place is bustling with staff and busy with everyone from couples to large groups talking loudly over the din.
Every detail of Alla Vita is designed to please a crowd, and that extends to the food. There aren't a whole lot of surprises on the menu, but the level of execution might make you blink a few times when the dishes arrive at your table...The dishes can be easily shared with a group without stealing the spotlight from the conversation at hand, except for the occasional wide-eyed acknowledgement between friends that the chicken parm is really, really good.
