On warm days in Wedgewood Houston, lunch crowds spill onto patios, residents walk designer dogs, and construction crews build developments still rising from the ground. The fast-evolving neighborhoods, which span roughly between Fort Negley to the north and Geodis Park to the south, have become one of Nashville's most closely watched growth corridors. And importantly, the neighborhood is still taking shape.

Wedgewood Houston got widespread buzz with recent business openings like Pastis, Hermès, and Aba. But, the daily atmosphere is kept alive by coffeeshops, bars, and restaurants, especially locally operated businesses like Americano Lounge and Jackalope Brewing Co.

One of the latest developments in the area is Memoir May Hosiery, the newest apartment complex built by AJ Capital Partners, a Nashville-based multinational real estate company with its headquarters office just a block away. The firm is responsible for more than 18 acres of mixed-use development in Wedgewood Houston.

At Memoir May Hosiery, the luxurious boutique rental apartment buildings built by AJ Capital, shaded loungers await future residents on the rooftop pool deck. The gym, lobby, two resident lounges, and terrace area are also prepped, each with its own meticulously curated interior design elements.

The development, which has been pre-leasing since November, offers 109 apartment units, ranging in size from studios to two-bedroom units. While the apartment building's design looks pulled from the pages of an interior design catalog, the most anticipated changes are happening below, on the street level.

AJ Capital has become known for a careful curation of restaurants, bars, and retail businesses at its master-planned real estate developments. Anchored by the new apartment building, Wedgewood Village is no exception.

In the coming months, the neighborhood will become home to major fashion retail brands Zimmermann, Malbon, and Staud; restaurants Momotaro and Alla Vita; cocktail bar Middleman; and locally owned businesses Bell Bird Books, Bower Nail Salon, and Culture Club Greek yogurt cafe.

All of these businesses will move into buildings that are part of AJ Capital's Wedgewood Village project, which is already home to high-profile businesses Hermès, Pastis, Brunello Cucinelli, and Eberjey. The development will also feature office space and is just steps from the new music venue called The Truth.
